The Foundation Mare - OFW Pollyanna

OFW Pollyanna, picture taken by Misfit Mares

OFW Pollyanna came to Misfit Mares from Washington. She has always been an extremely gentle and mindful mare. While this makes for a great human companion, she tends to be lower ranked in the herd.

Be aware that all photos other than this photo of Pollyanna, and the photo of Kahlil at the bottom of the webpage, are not my photos.

RSD Dark Victory is the Sire of OFW Pollyanna.

Sire’s Sires

Bey Shah is the Sire of RSD Dark Victory. There is a beautiful article written by Arabian Essence called “When an icon becomes immortal” detailing his prestige that you can view if you click his image.

Bay El Bey, sire of Bey Shah, sire of RSD Victory. I chose this photo over a show photo because I love how elegant and relaxed he looks. Linked is an article titled “History of Bay El Bey“ from Varian Arabians.

Khemosabi was the Sire of Kamasi Sabaha, the dam of Dark Victory.

SLO Horse News article titled “Khemosabi: Superhorse of the 20th Century” Is available if you click on his photo detailing his notoriety.

Bay-Abi, sire of Bay el Bey, Sire of Bey Shah, sire of RSD Dark Victory. The History of Bay-Abi from Varian Arabians is linked if you click on his photo.

Bask is listed on both sides of her pedigree. Both Star of Ofir and Ariston are sired out of Bask. If you click on his picture, it will take you to an article from SLO Horse News called “Bask++ Reshaping the modern Arabian Breed”.

Amerigo is the sire of Khemosabi, sire of Kumasi Sabaha, dam of RSD Dark Victory. Linked is an article titled “Early Stars in our Arabian Skies” from the Santa Ynez Valley News that tells the story of Amerigo.

Pollyanna has had at least three other foals before coming to the Misfit farm. Spirits Rebellious, AKA Kahlil, is our 2024 half Arabian colt.

Potential future pairings

Tuxedo Thyme is my top choice in stallions to breed Polly to. First, they will throw a black foal. Second, he has Bask and Khemosabi in his pedigree, but enough differences that each parent brings their own uniqueness to the table. If you click on his photo, it will take you to his stallion page about his pedigree. Finally, obviously his name!  He is my top choice for a pairing with Pollyanna.

Elikzir is a polish bred stallion owned by Bonn-Fyre farms. If you click on his photo, it will take you to episodes farm, who has a lovely page explaining his significance.

While I would prefer to breed black, when looking at movement, conformation, and demeanor he is a challenging second. His stud fee is the most affordable. If you click on his picture, it will take you to his stallion page.

Avatar AT is a well established and well esteemed stallion, with the black coloring I’d prefer. If you click on his picture, it will take you to his page on Orrion Farms, where he is standing at stud.

He has a few major titles, and favors the Egyptian style of Arabian which is more fine-boned and delicate. He is just too nice of a stallion not to include, but his stud fee is the most expensive.
